Integrated Movement Therapies (IMT)
Integrated Movement Therapies (IMT)® is the brainchild of Danielle Belec. As the framework for the study of conscious and functional movement, it has its roots in age-old traditions. IMT is strongly influenced by the work of Rudolf Laban (Laban Movement Analysis) and Irmgard Bartenieff (Bartenieff Fundamentals), as well as by her training as a contemporary dancer and related studies in tai chi, yoga, Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy certification, myofascial bodywork, the Mitzvah Technique, and her on-going research into biomechanics, and functional movement.
As the basis for movement mastery and intentional living, the Second Wind® Method’s combination of Integrated Movement Therapies (IMT)® with The Pilates Method is unique in the field of Pilates. Danielle’s teaching transforms how your body moves, thinks, feels and communicates, propelling individual movement potential to new levels of possibility.
